Thursday TV.
May. 16th, 2008 05:58 amWhich I usually watch at ass o'clock in the morning on Friday.
Spoilers abound.
Read at your own risk.
( The Office )
I should probably go to sleep, now. It's past 5. But I have Lost...
( Lost )
Off to sleep. If what's left of my brain can STOP EXPLODING.

Lost thoughts.
Mar. 14th, 2008 03:22 amUnfortunately, every Thursday night, my World of WarCraft guild has a raid, and I usually have to attend, so I rarely get to see Lost live.
But I was going back through some of my old JJ Night posts (prompted by Alias being on at 2am on Space every weeknight!) and thought I'd try it out with this episode of Lost.
( JJ Night -- The Revenge! (Spoilers, obviously.) )

So, remember that Sociology of the Media paper I talked about way back in mid-November?
Working on that right now, actually. Due tomorrow. Well, really, it was due back in November, but I got an incomplete what with all the family stuff going on back then and have basically ignored it until today.
Tonight, really, if I'm going to be honest.
I think it's a bad sign when you open up your paper and go "huh. I think I was smarter two months ago than I am now."
So this to finish and AND AND... a midterm in Socialization tomorrow. Thankfully, it's all multiple choice and true/false and most of it seems to be stuff I've studied before in more depth in other classes.
hahaha, I hate school. :P
This weekend... possibly going up north to ski. Unsure if my workload will allow me to do so yet, even if this coming week is spring break. (Er, reading week. I call it Spring Break, dammit! I don't care if it's not spring!)
Randomly... I did not have a valentine, but I shaved my legs anyways. So there.
And finally... no spoilers in this entry (comments might be another story)... but Lost continues to blow my mind. I think I spent the majority of tonight's episode going "wait, wait, WHAT?!?!"

Variety of things.
Mar. 23rd, 2006 02:13 pm1) I have not seen Lost yet.
drsnicket and I will be viewing it tonight after she picks me up after class and we go have dinner. I am dying to know what happened.
2) How I loathe SPSS. I'd forgotten how much I hated it.
3) More than SPSS, I loathe databases that aren't easily importable by SPSS. I have a bunch of mismatched variable names and variables. And ooh, I just figured out why -- there were commas in a bunch of things, and that messed up my data! Must go through and fix that.
4) I had a pleasant morning. I was up before 9, showered at 10, talked to my brother about a lift at 10:30, he picked me up at 11:15 and we went to school together. We worked on finishing up the crossword puzzle together on the way. :)
5) I desperately want to skip Italian, but at the same time, I am looking forward to Italian because it will take me away from SPSS CRAP for another hour and a half.
How on earth I'm going to find the sheer willpower to do all the crap I need to do for next week, I do not know. Thank goodness today marks my weekend. Friday is Day of Recharging, Saturday will be Day of Work 1 and Sunday will be Day of Work 2.
With any luck, the prof for my Monday class will cancel Monday because his wife will hopefully be in labour. Monday will, therefore, be Day of Work 3, followed by Evening With JB.
Should leave for Italian soon. Sigh.

Am. Tired.
Dec. 18th, 2005 03:15 amWent to my parents' for dinner with family.
Left here at 5:30.
Got home seven hours later.
Am tired, am very tired of family, but have to wake up at 11:30am at the latest to go to BRUNCH with the family.
God, all this family crap right before CHRISTMAS? Insanity.
Good news is that I am the proud owner of Lost, Season 1 on DVD, courtesy of my uncle. (Christmas came early, so to speak, since he and his GF are leaving on Monday and won't be here for Christmas.)
Bad news, I may injure every member of my family before the end of brunch tomorrow, because they ANNOY ME TO DEATH. <insert bright smile here>
Bed. Very soon.
(Relatedly, one of the most frustrating things in the world is dreaming about hanging out with someone you really care about, and they start to say something that you know is extremely important, and then YOUR ALARM CLOCK GOES OFF, shattering the dream into a zillion pieces. I would like to recapture that dream tonight, please.)

Italian, hockey, Hattrick and Lost!
Oct. 5th, 2005 08:51 pmTest went okay. I hate articles. I don't understand why there needs to be 397502 words for "the". But it still went okay.
Hockey. There is NHL hockey on my TV for the first time in over a year. It makes me very happy. But there are 82 matches in a season and only 22 episodes of Lost a season. Lost beats hockey. Well, first-run Lost, anyways.
Hattrick. I won my cup match by the skin of my nose and this means that next week, I get to play a friend of mine, I, whom I've met several times and is a very nice person. She's also sort of my boss when it comes to other things in the game, so that's just amusing. It's a seeded thing, so the best team left plays the worst team left, and we're both somewhere in the middle. It'll be fun!
And OMG, I just saw José Theodore in a Ford commercial. Long live French television, eh? DAMN, that boy is fine. <wipes drool from chin>
Lost in 13 minutes, now. Stay tuned at 10pm for my Lost reactions, and don't forget to check out
flight815islost for Lost stuff, too. (I'll be making a post there later on, which will be more detailed than the one here.)
Ten minutes. Squee!
(I need to make an icon that incorporates Lost, hockey, Hattrick and Italian.)

Oh, dear Lord.
Oct. 5th, 2005 02:20 pmDid you know that there are over THIRTY irregular past participles in the passato prossimo in Italian?
THIRTY. Thirty PLUS.
Thankfully, I already know... ... wow, I know 20 of them pretty well from my prior classes. But still.
And the imperfect is okay, too.
But there's a ton of present-tense irregularities that just SUCK. To ascend, which is "salire", is crazy. It's salgo, sali, sale, saliamo, saliate, salgono. Where the hell does this G come from, and why is it only in the first person singular and third person plural?!
Grr. There are others that are just as mystifying, as well.
In other news... no, wait. There IS no other news, there is just my Italian test in TWO HOURS.
Okay, no, I lie. JB was over last night, we watched Commander in Chief, Weeds, Kitchen Confidential and How I Met Your Mother. Tomorrow, after Research Design, we're coming back here to watch Alias. And tonight, tonight is Lost and that makes me happy, because my mom is picking me up after my test and driving me home and I get to watch my Hattrick match (part of it, anyways) and then LOST and yay.
Right, so I'm aware that Italian and TV are my entire life right now. Sue me.
Back to studying some irregular verbs and wondering why the hell I took Italian in the first place.
PS: If my parents didn't speak halfway decent Italian and I hadn't been able to speak Italian with them during, oh, I don't know, EVERY SINGLE CONVERSATION I HAD with them this summer (it's funny, mom and I start out in Italian, degrade to French, end up in English and then say goodbye in French and Italian), then I would be SO MUCH MORE SCREWED for this class than I am now. As it is, I've used my Italian all summer, although not all that much (mostly first person and usually the present tense), but my parents corrected me on certain things all summer. I feel good about this, now. Hopefully the test will not blow away all my confidence.
Studio adesso! (I'm studying now!)

Lost stuff.
Sep. 29th, 2005 04:51 amDidn't post here for Lost stuff tonight, although I'm thinking I will next week.
In the meantime, you can check out
flight815islost for my Lost commentary/etc of the night. :)

Okay, so last week's Lost is on right now and this week's starts in 25 minutes and OMG it feels like I've been waiting forever for this episode.
And Alias is tomorrow night!!! I am quite squeeful.
I'm not sure how I'm going to manage Lost commentary here. Normally I do a sort of "My Reaction" post, but I've now also got
flight815islost going, and editing both my post there and my post here was a pain in the ass every time I realized something. I'll probably keep writing a "My Reaction" post in Notepad and then hammer it out into something more comprehensible and post THAT at
flight815islost.
Five minutes. Very excited. More later, doubtlessly.
