Time to read along with my reactions to the two-hour season premiere of Lost!
Okay.
I'm five minutes in.
And I'm BASICALLY all "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON."
It's good to be watching Lost again.
My main question right now is, if this is the new reality, and I AM NOT CONVINCED THAT IT IS, how much is Jack, or anyone, aware of anything? Also, what the hell kind of destiny has Desmond ON THEIR PLANE?
... I'm sorry, the island is now UNDERWATER?

I finally got to watch. OMFG.

I usually try to avoid these things--I used to hang at a Lost forum but realized I liked being surprised better--but I did see someone speculate on ABC that at the end of whatever happens on the island is when Flight 815 resumes. That kind of makes sense to me. We are watching two tracks at once, but not concurrent tracks. Like Memento, going backwards and forwards and the same time, only... not backwards.
- I thought the audio was a problem with the streaming video on the ABC site! It was a nice touch.
- Bernard and ROSE, dear. :)
- It's definitely THEIR names.
- I thought that too: Oh right, Jin's an asshole again :-(
- No Charlie / Claire :(
- Desmond could be on the plane because he never got stuck entering the numbers in a non-existent Swan station! :D
- I saw the Other Others' leader and went, "Genghis Khan?!" ;)
- Am dying to know about Richard. Escaped his chains? What? It sounds like something mythological! My guess is ancient Egyptian, based on the symbolism (and the fact that Richard always looks like he's wearing eyeliner!).
- I intend on watching again! :)

- Blood on Jack's neck... I don't exactly know. I thought it was maybe a leftover from the island? If that makes sense? For whatever reason, Jack was aware he sort of knew Desmond. It makes me think that this plane trip is sort of overwriting what happened on the island, but however that's happening, it's not erasing all evidence of what they'd been through on the island. I have no idea if that makes sense.
- I think the audio could have been done better. Like, if we saw some shots from Kate's POV with the subdued audio and shots OF Kate without it, it would have been easier to distinguish she was having hearing issues as opposed to many people thinking it's a glitch or belatedly realizing it's intentional.
- ... NO idea where Joyce came from. At all.
- It dawned on me, five years ago or so, that this show would frustrate me until the end. I maintain this is true. (re: list/names/etc)
- What a weird "coincidence" though, that Desmond would be on their plane. If, indeed, he IS on their plane. Where'd he go?
- I love Genghis. Or whatever his name is. The English line is great.
- Richard does definitely need to ease up on the eyeliner. Drives me nuts. What also drives me nuts is I used to watch Suddenly Susan and I always expect him to speak with a thick Spanish accent. And I keep wanting to call him Luis...

- For whatever reason, Jack was aware he sort of knew Desmond. --Ah, but if you remember in the flashbacks to before the flight, Jack and Desmond had met briefly before at the (?) UCLA track. (...or did they?? ;) )
- I agree re: the audio.
- I don't think we're going to know everything until the last second of the last episode, and even then it's a tossup. :-/
- I have to wonder if Desmond's 'flashing' like he used to.
- I too loved the line about the feel of English on his tongue...
Hope to watch this week's ep tomorrow...
