Happy Canada Day!

It's Canada Day today. On July 1st, 1867, The Dominion of Canada was created and we became our own country.
Given that half my LJ friends are saying that they're MOVING TO CANADA because of Sandra Day O'Connor's resignation from the US Supreme Court, I thought I'd inflict some Canadiana on you.
Take this quiz about Canada. I only got 13/20, which sucks, but apparently, I know more than the average Canadian. Go me.
Also, new icon. I really need to find a better image of a Canadian flag, one that's less pixelated, but I'm lazy and my Internet connection keeps dropping because of the HUGE THUNDERSTORM OUTSIDE. Crazy.
Some Canadian Slang, some info on Québec French and some Canadian Culture (the first line of this article is: It has been said that Canadian culture rests solely in the effort to distinguish itself from its southern neighbour, the United States.), all from Wikipedia.
And, of course, the best television commercial EVER to air in Canada:
I Am Canadian -- Joe's Rant. (Quicktime, embedded, turn down your sound if you shouldn't be surfing the web at work!)
Happy Canada Day, folks. :)
