Ugh.

a) My alarm clock apparently no longer has any effect on me whatsoever. It's on my bookshelf across the room specifically so I have to get my ass out of bed to turn it off, thus, perhaps, actually forcing me to wake up. It went off for 25 minutes today and as it went off, I just rolled over and went back to sleep. WTF.

b) My reasoning was that "oh, it's ten o'clock, I don't need to get up yet". In fact, it was 1:30. Somehow, my brain thought I'd set the alarm for 10:30am and that, clearly, I didn't actually need to get up at that hour. Also WTF.

c) I have Fathoms Below from The Little Mermaid stuck in my head. Also WTF.

d) My head is killing me due to rapid changes in temperature and humidity and yet, I was completely unaware of the pain while asleep. Also WTF.

e) Thankfully, there is absolutely zero work for me to do today. How immoral would it be to take a nap while getting paid? ;)

One day...

One day, I will get to bed at a reasonable hour on the night before I go to work at the polls on election day.

That did not happen today, of course. But I do plan to work at the polls pretty much every time I'm able to, so maybe someday in the future, eh?

Think happy, non-separatist thoughts today for my province, please. We're having a provincial election and the threat of a referendum on separation looms if the Parti Quebecois gets into power, as per usual. So even though the provincial Liberals suck ass and Jean Charest is a twit, they're still our best chance of staying in Canada for at least the next 3-5 years.

Gotta love politics, eh? :P

On another note, I love how I just got my ass out of bed now after my alarms have been going off since 6:45am. The words "It's just another few minutes" seem to justify hitting snooze when one is sleep-deprived.

Must find something to wear and must make myself sandwiches and prepare snacks and then go catch the bus. At least this year the poll boxes will be at the polling station, so I don't have to go lugging that anywhere.

... really, someone needs to drug me at about 8pm the night before the next election, 'kay?

Briefly.

I slept for 14 hours.

Was asleep just past midnight and slept and slept and slept and woke up just past 2pm.

I woke up briefly at 2am and briefly again at 8am and 10am and each time, convinced myself to go back to sleep, because I have been utterly sleep deprived this whole last couple of weeks.

It. Feels. Awesome. :)

Now I must run to the store for my grandmother and at some point I must get some schoolwork done, but damn. I love Wednesdays. Sleeping in is so delightful.
