It's raining. My sinuses are displeased. Work starts in an hour and 34 minutes.

I should be excited, because it's my first shift as a member of team Fire, and I'll be meeting new people and stuff, but I am so tired that I can't think properly right now. I'm leaving around 1:15 to get there in plenty of time for 2 (I hope), which will also, hopefully, include being able to find parking downtown.

Although how I will be able to park without the aid of M & N or R, I do not know. Last night, during JB's birthday celebrations, M&N helped me squeeze into the smallest space I've ever parked in and R's eagle-eye found me a spot, and she helped guide me into it. Serious team efforts going on there.

Randomly, I still don't believe that I managed to drive from the Plateau to JB's without getting horrifically lost. I have NEVER, in my entire 28 years, been so happy to see Sherbrooke Street as I was last night at 3am. I'm going to map out the route I took with Google Earth or something later on and demonstrate to you how crazy it was to get from point A to point B last night. You'll laugh when you see the route I took versus the route Google Maps suggested. Envision, if you will, a right-angled triangle. The hypotenuse is the Google route -- basically, a long straight line. The actual route taken is comprised of the two sides making up the right angle. (Actually, it's even more convoluted, but that begins to express it.)

I can't wait for the future, where we will have electronic maps in our cars, because I AM LOST without checking out the route on Google first, and I had NO IDEA I was going to drive M&N to N's place. Not only that, but I had no idea where N lived, even if I HAD known I was going to drive them there.

Still, JB and I did okay, I guess. We make a good team. :)

... did I actually use the word "hypotenuse" up there?? WTF, I am crazy. (That doesn't mean my explanation is wrong or invalid. It's still perfectly right. It's just damn weird to have used something like that when I AM SO TIRED.)

Okay. I should go get ready for work. Maybe I'll be able to read on my dinner break.

OR, maybe we'll finish early today! (Such ecstasy that would be.) (And damn, the shift isn't cancelled. Grr. Do you know how much I would pay to curl up and go back to sleep RIGHT NOW? A lot.)
