Updates all around.
Dec. 14th, 2004 01:52 pmMy exam was hard. There was this reading comprehension part of it that was insanely difficult. I'm not kidding. It was about mitochondria and cells and it was all... WTF?! In fact, it seems that the reading was put together from chunks of this text.
Our teacher had given us warning about the reading. "I think it's inappropriate for an Italian 201 class, but... don't panic. When you see it, that's the most important thing -- don't. panic."
I love my teacher. I remembered what she told me when I flipped the exam paper over and was faced with sentences like this:
Antonio Todde, morto qualche anno fa a 113 anni, è entrato nel Guinness dei primati come uno degli uomini che ha vissuto di più sul pianeta.
... and that's an EASY sentence. (Antonio Todde died at 113 years of age, was entered into Guinness as one of the humans who have lived longest on this planet. Or something like that.)
Anyways, the grammar was easy (ish), and I know I made a couple mistakes in the geography section (I had no idea what region of Italy also speaks German), but the short composition was a breeze. I think I did okay. :D

I happened to see some episodes of "Young Americans" on SuprNova last night, and downloaded the first three, mostly because I wanted to see Boone think he's gay because of Shane. Hee. I remembered seeing bits of it, at
moireach's behest, I think, but I thought I'd d/l a couple eps and see what the deal is.
( Young Americans. Well, thank God they're not Canadians. )

I'm on holiday until January 3rd.
Fucking sweet.
