brinshannara: (finally - bianca and maggie)
Erica Kane is the best daytime drama character ever.

"I don't need DNA. I have K A N E!"

DAMN, but it's great to see Erica in fighting form.

(Also, I'm in denial that I have an exam in five and a half hours.)

edit: "You think I'm afraid of JUNIOR? Have we met? I'm Erica Kane."

Susan Lucci is a goddess. I'm actually going to write her a fan letter this week. No shit, honest to God.

(Yes. I am lame.)
brinshannara: (pronto?)
Around 4:15, I finished typing up a lot of reference notes that I needed to study (because flipping to 2934 different spots in the book was NOT working), and printed them out.

As I made dinner, I studied them, and I've been studying them since, not to mention, I already know most of this stuff down cold. I remain confused as to why there does not seem to be a plural form of indeterminant articles in italian (un and una... become what? I'm sure I know this somewhere in my head.)

Sul esame, devo scrivere una poca composizione, ma io non sono occupata; posso scrivere bene in italiano.

(On the exam, I have to write a small composition, but I'm not worried; I can write well in Italian.)

I'm feeling good, I'm feeling confident, and I'm leaving in about 45 minutes, so as not to miss my bus. (Vado prendere l'autobus di sei ore perché non voglio essere in ritardo. -- I'm taking the six o'clock bus because I don't want to be late.)

It's going to be a tough exam, but I shall be victorious.

Idly, "good luck" in Italian is, literally, "buona fortuna". No one ever uses that.

Instead, they say: "In bocca al lupo!" which means "In the mouth of the wolf!"

And then, the response isn't anything like "thanks", oh no. It's "Crepi il lupo!" which means "May the wolf explode!"

Italians are funny. :D

OOH.

I nearly forgot that snow is actually sort of good, sometimes.

I went rummaging in my closet for my scarf and caught sight of my skis, boots and poles.

W00T.

I cannot WAIT to go skiing again!!!

... maybe this weekend, even!

<squee>

<looks at time and hurries off to pack her back for her exam, squeeing all the way>
