I just saw the biggest, brightest rainbow of my entire life as I walked home from the bank.
Huge arches of colour against a backdrop of one of the darkest grey clouds I've ever had the privilege of seeing.
And I blinked... and saw the second one.
Further up in the sky, even bigger than the first one, if only appearing in pieces, was a second rainbow -- the only double rainbow I've ever seen.
Despite the smattering of raindrops, or because of them, I smiled as I walked home, nearly transfixed on the blazing strips of colour marking my normally boring eastern sky.
I stood outside my building for an extra moment, watching the sky, wondering if they would fade, waiting for it. Then I decided I wanted to remember the vivid streaks of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple just as they were, and I walked inside.
