I am so freaking GLAD they didn't turn it into the stereotypical "fat guy eats all the good", so glad that opening scene was a dream, because I would have been through with this show if they had done that.
I don't get the Pony Boy thing. Enlighten me?
I kind of liked Hurley's backstory. I like that he really didn't want to turn in the ticket because he knew things would change. I wonder what happened to the friend.
I loved Hurley's idea for a blowout with the food. He was completely right -- things would have gotten ugly. Bless Rose's heart for talking him down from blowing it up. I thought the little shower scene was cute (well, Jack/Kate doesn't give me the willies) and the peanut butter was too cute for words.
And that ending made me totally tear up.
Yes, the two settlements are totally yin/yang. But I bet that the tailsection's settlement is the way it is because they're much closer to the Others. I do think the rest of the 23 are dead or gone due to the Others. And they've had to become more like a military state to stay alive. (I wonder what Ana-Lucia's life was like prior to the island.) I totally thought the big black dude was going to turn out to be one of the Nigerians...
