My Day (Public Version)

I... had a really weird day, but also really good. I know, I'm a cold, callous person for focusing on my own day rather than the tragic events that happened in London. My thoughts and prayers are with Londoners and their loved ones, but it doesn't change the fact that what happened happened, and it doesn't change the fact that I had a day that had very little to do with the bombings.
I'm going to skip over the brother/dog stuff (in that my brother decided to go to Ontario with friends, leaving me to feed the dog, because the parents are up north), and all the issues that caused me. I got my errands done and I got to class after feeding the dog.
So I got to class way early and got my methodology assignment back and I got an 86.6%, thankyouverymuch. This means I can KICK SOME ASS on my next methodology assignment which is already way late, and hopefully have that in for Tuesday. (Work is going to come in handy, since part of the methodology is sitting there making up a survey/questionnaire for people to take, and what do I do? I SURVEY/INTERVIEW PEOPLE three nights a week. I can come up with survey questions SO EASILY, I'm sure.)
Anyways, JB gets to class early (for her. Like, before class started!) and after class, we had plans to meet her friend N and go to the Jazz Fest. Before meeting N, I gave her her birthday present. It consisted of a (very pink) "certificate" thing I made that says:
"This ticket is awarded to [JB] on the occasion of her 24th birthday. It may be redeemed for an evening at the movies at the recipient's convenience."
Plus I burned The Vanity Project for her, as well as a mix of bouncy/fun/silly BNL songs. She was quite happy and hugged me to pieces.
Then we went out and met N, made our way to the Jazz Fest and had an awesome time. We got food and drinks and hung out and caught a show by Ruthie Foster, who is just so... energetic, vibrant, full of soul.

She was amazing. Such life to her! I want to buy her stuff, now. Check it out here:

I'm especially fond of "Hole in my Pocket", part of which you can listen to.
So around 11, we headed back to the metro and N went one way and JB and I went the other way. I walked her home, hung out with her and her roommate's BF for a while, heard him tell stories of his evening as customer service for TD Bank, and then took a cab home.
It was a great night. The Jazz Fest is ending this weekend, and I wish JB was going to be around, but no, she's off to Drummondville for the weekend. Still, Just for Laughs is starting, and I'm gonna take her down there a few nights, I'm sure. :)
I love summer in my city. While listening to Ruthie Foster, in this THRONG of a couple thousand people, JB, N and I dancing and singing and clapping, I knew there was not another place in the entire world I would have rather been than right there, right then. It was beautiful.
