While I definitely don't like the idea of having fangirls (maybe even fanboys!) post about how in love they are with specific people, I also don't really like the idea of making it a closed community, because I think everyone should have the opportunity to join. Maybe mention in the community rules that it isn't a place for swooning and OMGHEISSOHOT stuff, or make it the application-type deal, although not everyone will show off their fangirlish selves through the application. If you have monitors who can deal with that kind of stuff, then that might be a better way to go. Although, communities tend to get kind of ugly when monitors start to delete posts and things like that, but if it clearly states in the rules that fangirlishness isn't allowed, then it shouldn't be a problem. Let them make their own fangirl/boy community. Personally, I probably wouldn't go through the trouble of filling out an application to a LiveJournal community, but that's just me. I'm sure many other people would.
