Music meme.

It's six in the morning and I'm still awake. I suck.
So, music meme, via
superswank.
1) Total volume of music files on my computer?
In the realm of 3 gigs.
2) The last CD I downloaded/bought was...
I haven't a clue. At all.
3a) The last song I listened to before writing this was...
"Prayer of Saint Francis" - Sarah McLachlan.
3b) Song playing right now?
"She Was Dead" - SR-71
4a) Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me.
1) "Brian Wilson", Barenaked Ladies. This song is like an old, comfortable shoe. I know all the nooks and crannies of it. I sing it (halfway) well. It comforts me. I've loved it since I first heard it in 1992. (Thank you,
llnaughty.)
2) "For Good", from the musical Wicked. BAM stuff aside, this song just makes me want to cry. I think of it and I think of my best friend,
drsnicket, and parts of it are just so apt, so perfect.
3) "Wonderwall", Oasis. Fond memories of 1995 and a sort of girlfriend. Such warm, fuzzy feelings.
4) "Cider House Rules Theme", Rachel Portman. Fond memories of 2000 and my then-almost-girlfriend. Even more warm and fuzzy feelings.
5) "Save Tonight", Eagle Eye Cherry. While I've loved this song for ages, for some reason, the memory that sticks here is one of my last nights in Washington DC. Appropriate, really.
4b) Five albums I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me.
1. Gordon, Barenaked Ladies. Probably the only musical consistency in my life aside from Beethoven's sixth. I've been listening to this since 1992, as previously mentioned.
2. Now You See Inside, SR-71. I used to listen to this a lot when I was working and commuting. It's a fun album, upbeat, although there's some depth to the lyrics.
3.Fumbling Towards Ecstasy, Sarah McLachlan. I listen to this when writing, and it seems to inspire me pretty well. "Good Enough", "Ice" and "Possession" are my favourites.
4. Come Away With Me, Norah Jones. Not my typical fare, but another great CD to write to. This baby helped me through NaNo 2003, when I finished with 50,069 words. :D It's nice and mostly ambient music, but sometimes you'll catch a lyric and you'll pay attention. Also great for during bubble baths. Mmmmm.
5. Moulin Rouge Soundtrack, Various. Sometimes, I'm just in the mood for the eclectic mix of music on this CD.
5) Which 5 people are you passing this baton to?
moireach,
trexphile,
shiningmoon,
literaryradical and
llnaughty, if they accept the challenge. :)
I really should try to get some sleep.
