1) Irina -- absolutely. Such a deep, complicated, layered character. What kind of person can seduce a CIA agent and raise a family with him, betray him, have another child, fake their death and still convincingly display love and affection for both her former husband and eldest daughter? Seriously. So much love for the complexity she shows.

10) CJ -- yes. CJ is all at once awkward and confident. Weak and powerful. Serious and funny. She has a great strong facade which isn't always present, and the peeks we get at her weaker sides just makes me want to hug her.

I'm actually posting to let you know that Tru Calling is on this Thursday for what I presume is the run of un-aired episodes; Fox around here wasn't advertising it, and I only found out by accident.

Gabrielle is right. :) I love her. I love her journey. I still think she's an idiot for throwing away her AMAZON STAFF (and cutting off all her hair), but I loved how Gabrielle matured from this peasant girl who knew nothing to a woman who could take care of herself. It wasn't easy for her, and her journey wasn't always pretty or something I agreed she should be doing, but I like who she turned out to be in the end.

As to Tru, thanks for thinking to mention it, but I already <cough> acquired all six episodes. ;)

Exactly. Except for the brief better-ignored foray into dust-blowing, her progress was a lot more dramatic than Xena's. Xena was basically a hero on a journey; Gabrielle was on a journey to *become* a hero.

Buffy - Tara. So sweet, so gentle, so kind. And paid the ultimate price for acting her age, just once.

TNG - Beverly. Ah, my Doctor Beverly. I've adored her from the get go. It's not just that she's intelligent and creative, nor just that she's talented and managed to raise a son on her own. It's to do with the fact that she lost Jack and, even twenty years later, is hesitant to move on. She's scared of losing the most important man to her since Jack (Picard, obviously) and I've always been able to relate to that, in a way.

DS9 - Dax. Specifically, Jadzia. Combining a young woman such as Jadzia with a centuries-old symbiont like Dax, who has its own personality, to say the least, makes Jadzia Dax one of the most intriguing characters I've ever seen on television, and they never did enough with her. Dax's past lives are fascinating, especially how Jadzia learned how to come to terms with them. Specifically Joran, of course, but also Curzon and, obviously, Torias' life and love.

Lost - Sawyer. Apart from his hotness, I love how fragile he is. Kate gets under his skin and it BOTHERS him and while the macho man egotistical part of him can annoy me, I know it's just to keep him from being hurt.

I actually had trouble picking my favourite, but Sawyer kept popping up in my head. He fascinates me in a way no other character does -- fascinates me because he's the everyman, you know? Locke fascinates me because he's most emphatically NOT the everyman, and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HIS DEAL IS.

9) Tru Calling

Harrison is right!

Tru Calling - Harrison. He is so my favourite. He's funny, he's smart, he's a slacker, and he has several problems, but he has a good heart. He reminds me of my younger brother. The scenes where Tru informs Harrison it's a rewind day, and he asks her for lottery numbers and stuff just always cracks me up. Harry's an opportunist and isn't above trying to use his sister's gift. Sort of reminds me of Chuck from Early Edition, who always cracked me up. But I like Harrison better.
