I am wiped. It's 2:30am now. I was woken up at 7:15. I slept for mayyyyyybe three hours.

Happy Boxing Day, everyone! :)

Brief run-down of the last 36 hours:

- My brother and I were convinced this blue van parked across the street belonged to robbers, like in "Home Alone". This set me off dying of laughter, remembering Marv and Harry, the Wet Bandits who go up against Kevin McCallister. Seriously? Parts of that movie still make me laugh uncontrollably. "Why the hell did you take your shoes off?" "Why the hell are you dressed like a chicken?" / "I can't tell you that." "Why not?" "Because you're a stranger." (I could quote it all night long.) Didn't wind up being thieves, or at least, they didn't rob US. ;)

- I'm Donut. My brother is Caboose. When I complained, he reminded me I'm a girl, and Donut's the guy with the pink armour. "It's LIGHT RED, fucker!" I wish I had replied. Halo 2 online is fun, but I got 0wn3d. And schooled. And killed. A lot.

- I made lasagna! And it was awesome.

- I HAD DOUGHNUTS. My grandmother's homemade doughnuts (note: not donut. Ick, ick. Only cool as a proper noun, referring to the dude in the light red armour in Red Vs. Blue.) and my God, are they ever amazing. Every year, I forget how delicious they are. Every year, I'm reminded.

- Watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas on my laptop last night, with my brother. :)

- Tried to sleep for two hours before I eventually fell asleep. Then, after what felt like thirty seconds later, I woke up at 7:15 when my brother woke me for Christmas morning.

- By 8am, the whole family was up and awake and opening presents. My parents went way overboard, and I was totally blindsided. I got (among other things like some clothes and stuff) a DVD player (!!! No more relying on my shit-ass PS2 which is so DEAD it's not even FUNNY) which also plays MP3 encoded CDs and will show JPGs too, a cordless phone (with caller ID screen) and... a wireless router! Money from the grandmothers... and the. Weirdest. Gifts. Ever. from my brother and his GF. Figures of Gizmo the Mogwai and Stripe the Gremlin. I'm not kidding. Like, hard-plastic 8" figures or something like that. The boy cracks me up.

- Delighted in the reactions of my mother and my brother to their gifts (a necklace and Sid Meier's Pirates! respectively).

- Spent ALL DAY LONG playing Pirates!, either with my brother or on my own. I didn't even nap!

- Had more lasagna. And doughnuts.

- Turkey dinner, more family stuff, still more Pirates, and eventually back home.

To bed, now. My phone's charging, my DVD player is working, the router is still at my parents', but that's okay, and I think I'm waking up relatively early. I need to buy ski pants for myself tomorrow so I can go skiing this winter. Wheeeee. :)

Happy Christmas!

That Home Alone stuff cracked me up 'cause it reminded me of when Seth was little, around five or so. We were riding in the car, and suddenly I hear him collapsing in laughter in the back seat. I'm all "What are you doing??" and he keeps laughing and laughing until finally he squeaks out "Home Alone!"

Apparently he recalled one of the bandit scenes and was suddenly very very amused by it ;) It was so darlin'.
