Jack and "Laura" had a daughter (thank God). Named her Sydney.

Sydney turned into a toddler.

Jack snapped at Laura.

Laura moved out.

Jack was heartbroken.

Sydney was mostly confused, but also missed her mother.

She's now a teenager. She's a great student, a voracious reader, and is currently trying to become this boy Orlando's best friend. They flirt. It's cute.

I'm also trying to get her into private school, but no dice so far, although I came close.

Jack still misses Laura, and one of his greatest fears remains falling out of love with her.

I tried to find a Project Christmas option when Syd was a toddler, but no luck. Ah, well. ;)

Okay. I'm going to try to do some work, now. (You may laugh. I know I certainly am.)

Whats with Orlando?

Ok, Between V and I, we have 3 families, sort of, up and going. When the baby girl, Kharla, became a teenager, I was lucky enough that Gunter (Vane's teen creation) happen to pass by the house and I cought him. But besides that...She keeps wanting to be friends with Orlando. And I DONT KNOW WHERE HE CAME FROM!!! I saw him at her bday party before she became a teen, but that was it. And she like infatuated with him. PLUS it was creapy cause here's a Teen and Orlando still a little boy!

Is your Orlando a little boy still?

I realized that I have two Orlandos! I think one is a teen and one is a child.

Stupid weird characters! Are you playing in Pleasantview? If so, does Mortimer Goth keep coming up to you and harassing you in your own house?

Actually, I started in Strangetown. Vanessa started in Veronaville, cause I had already check out Plesentville. So, then I moved my family and the "Smith" family too, so Veronavill had some Alien life form in it.

But no...no Mortimer Goth for me. I heard some where that if you play with them, he dies at one point, and you cant help it ;).

I hear people talking about Sims, and, as I've never ever seen it, I can never figure out how the game is played. Hearing it described is just bizarre. It always sounds to me like you just sit there and watch a story unfold on your monitor. I guess I should probably go read up on it or something so that I can figure out where the "gaming" aspect lies..

Well, the first thing is that you create your Sim (or Sims). Faces, body type, clothes, personality.

Then you can move them into an empty lot (or a lot with a house there already) and you can go about customizing it. Buying what you want for them, etc.

Based on their personalities, your Sims will act in various different ways. Say this one Sim is very neat (yes, that's an option -- neat, messy, anywhere in between) and is living with a slob. The one Sim WILL miss work in the morning if there's a mess to clean if you don't force him out the door.

The key to everything is the Sim's interpersonal relationships. Everyone's bi, which is pretty cool. ;) You need friends to advance in your job, so the best way in the original game is to invite a bunch of people over to get to know them, then in the next days, invite one over and get snuggly with them. I have Sims who have been in love with like, 23 other Sims.

And other Sims can get jealous. Hee.

But the Sims in Sims 2 are even more customizable and even more independent. They now have overriding Aspirations (Laura Bristow wants, above all, Knowledge. So whenever she has a few minutes, she starts studying something. Anything.). They also have short-term wants and fears (that change when one of them has happened). These range from wanting to eat cereal to wanting to be saved from Death (I'm not kidding.), from being afraid of being sick and seeing vermin to being afraid of the death of a relative/spouse/etc.

Plus you have to keep a job to keep the money coming in, you have to raise a baby (if you have one in your family unit), etc.

It's a game about time management, too, which is ironic, considering the billions of hours I can see myself playing it. ;)

Definitely go read a review of The Sims or The Sims 2. It's really nifty.

Okay, I can totally see your side on this. Instead of buying the Alias DVDs, you can reconstruct the whole SpyFamily story using The Sims!

There is method to my madness. Although there's still too much madness to the method.

And hey, SpyFamily is what keeps me going! I'm going to have a Derevko family with Katya, where Laura will move in to. And I need a Weiss family, too.
