Ahhh.

My Monday was lovely. Lazy and lovely.

And now that it's officially Tuesday, I'm off to bed. The smoke alarms/fire alarms are being tested tomorrow at nine in the morning. Just like last year and the year before. Wheeee.

My place is presentable, without much cleaning at the last minute, because I cleaned when drsnicket came by last Friday. :)

I'm going to curl up in bed, keep re-reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (because all these books have just merged into one really long story with no details) and fall asleep before 1.

I like this plan. :)

Was up before 9. Smoke detector was inspected around 9:45.

I wrote.

I talked to drsnicket.

I ate.

I saw my grandmother, briefly.

I did some administrative stuff at one of my online communities.

I straightened my hair (and took photos so you can all see how cute I can look with the "new" haircut) and used a metric tonne of hairspray to keep it in place. And already, it's falling out.

I took my inhaler and will take my steroid inhaler soon (which my dad thinks I should keep taking for another 10 days. It tastes bad!).

I am about to log off and pack my bag for poetry.

IT'S SPRING! WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME?

No, seriously, it may have become Spring officially last week or whatever, but today, Montreal is TOTALLY all full of spring.

The sky is gorgeous -- a nice blue, no clouds. The river (oh, my sweet river) is bluer than I've seen it in ages. The sun is shining, the snow is melting, people are smiling and wearing coats that aren't buttoned up. Sunglasses everywhere.

Did I mention the smiling people?

This is why I adore this city. After so many months of being cooped up and frozen, it's not just nature that is coming back to life, it's the entire city.

And. It's. Beautiful.

Ekaterina (Katya) means purity/chaste.

Elena means the chosen one.

I now wonder if it's Elena in the prophecy. WTF?! Surely JJ et al did some research on the names they chose, no? Then again, making Laura Bristow's real name Irina seems just oxymoronic if it means peace. ;)
