Had a pretty good day, all in all!
Woke up, felt better, so I decided that I would at least go through the motions of getting ready to go to C's birthday party. And by the time I was done with what I needed to do, I was feeling okay, so I thought, hell, I'll actually go.
So I arrived just after noon, and had a good time talking with the various people there. By 1pm, we headed up north to the Polar Bear Club.
I sat in the sauna twice, followed by a quick dunk in the ice-cold pool, twice, and sat in three separate outdoor jacuzzis.
At some point, after the third one, I could feel my head starting to complain, and I felt quite poached, so I went and showered and grabbed my Social Theory book and my laptop from my locker, and went to the reception area. Sat my ass in front of the fireplace, started reading Emile Durkheim, snacking on a couple of peanut butter sandwiches I'd brought and... fell asleep. FOR NEARLY TWO HOURS. Mmmm. Toasty warm.
Then back to C's for the potluck. My lasagna wasn't great, but it was okay, so sayeth a real Italian from Milan. With whom I actually had a short conversation! And we understood each other! This excited me beyond words.
Apparently, this one girl, H (the Italian guy's GF, actually), was flirting with me. Says C. I am doubtful, but she really did hang around me most of the evening, so... I dunno. Maybe? :)
Caught a lift home from M, after dropping J off, and checked Hattrick -- I won my last game of the season! Totally unexpectedly. And then I watched Desperate Housewives, except I FELL ASLEEP (darn this comfy couch!) until C called me later. I've been pretty much awake since about 2am, now, and good GOD, when the hell did it get to be nearly 4am?!
I WAS thinking about doing my paper, but I can do another paper due two weeks from now, so I might just do that instead. If I go to sleep now and wake up at 1pm, I'll get nine hours of sleep. This is tempting.
Anyway, I finished DH and enojyed it, although not terribly much. I'm not sure why not. Ah, well. Looks to be more interesting next week.
I didn't lose my hat! I thought I'd lost my hat and gloves, but I just unpacked my bag, and there they were. Whew.
Okay. No more stupid babbling. Paper time! Maybe.
