Multipurpose post.
Jan. 9th, 2005 01:00 amFirst, skiing. Skiing was awesome. I ski so much better than my friend C and I am indeed petty enough to feel awesome about that fact. What a change in her attitude once she realized I'd actually been entirely honest about my skiing ability! She was all "Eh, I've gone down expert runs" and stuff, and I was like "Really? Awesome! I've skied since I was 8 or so, but I'm a little rusty" and she said something about us probably being really similar in skills. I didn't say anything aloud, but I knew, inside, that I was way better than her, and that skiing does NOT "come naturally" to her, at least not as much as she insisted it did.
I wish I'd had a camera to take a picture of her face when she saw me skate up to her on my skis, before the first run we did. Uphill. Without being winded. I think that was the moment where she might have said to herself "Hm. She might actually have been honest when she said she was good!" Mwahaha. I'd have loved to SEE the look on her face when she first saw me head down a hill. I was in GREAT form today, did a bunch of moguls (owowow, my poor legs ache), was in total control all day long. I skied backwards a little, to watch C and M skiing, making sure I didn't lose them, I gave advice on form, on using the pomalift and chairlift...
It felt really awesome to have her defer to me for once, instead of constantly insisting SHE IS RIGHT AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG. Mwahaha. :D
