Not only did the United States just lose to Finland, but the winning goal for Finland was scored by none other than SAKU KOIVU, the captain of the Montreal Canadiens!
I am psyched.
(No offence, Americans, but I can never cheer on Team USA. It's just un-Canadian.)
I've wanted three teams to do well this tournament -- Canada (obviously), Finland (the Saku connection to the Habs) and Slovakia (Richard Zednik!). So I'm glad Finland won, even though it means Canada will go up against Koivu and Mikka Kiprusoff on Tuesday, if we beat the Czechs tomorrow night. Which we hopefully will.
Even though José Theodore hasn't played a game, I'm happy with the Canadian success. See? I can be unselfish! GO CANADA, GO!
And now, Medical Investigation.
