It's always good to know your smoke detector works.

So I was showering. With the bathroom door open a little bit.

Bad move.

My smoke detector apparently works perfectly, judging from the blaring noise it emitted when steam from my shower worked its way down the hall. Soaking wet, completely naked, I grabbed my towel and ran down the hall, dripping, and fanned the detector with the towel. I then returned to my shower.

Once done with my shower, I opened the door to let the room air out, as I always do. I dried off, started drying my hair, and the damn alarm goes off again. Tearing down the hallway at breakneck speeds ON A WET, WOODEN FLOOR? Not a good idea. I managed to keep my balance and fan the steam away again, but damn! Adrenaliney much?

I've given Pride a bye this year. No Lesbomonde party for me, no parade tomorrow. It's too hot, my lungs are complaining and it's just going to be boring.

I was invited out tonight by a friend of mine to go see a U2 cover band at a local bar. She and lots of her friends were going, and she thought it would be nice to have me along, so I could finally meet half of these friends.

I actually showered and got dressed and ready to go, but my lungs decided to crap out on me after the humidity of summer was added to by the humidity of the shower. Took my inhaler and still wasn't breathing right, so the physical exertion of getting downtown was not something I was in the mood for, when ultimately, I'd be in a bar with people who smoked.

So I've relaxed, watched some more Lois & Clark (I love my icon), some TV, eaten dinner, listened to music and now I might write. We'll see.
