See, I've been around fic/fanfic/original fic for like, 15 years? And throughout those 15 years, it's always been (in my circles, generally) "characters are fine, TOUCH NOT THE ACTORS".
It's only fiction, yes, but part of my hesitation (apart from my obvious socialization) is that it involves using the actors and the circumstances in their lives. I mean, I just used Venice as an excuse to get them to make out, knowing full well that they've already shot the scene in question. And I've gone so far as to put thoughts in CC's head. I think that's totally presumptuous of me, particularly since both these ladies are married with kids. It's like, they could probably handle NC17 fic about Natalia and Olivia, but what about versions of themselves? Ones that allude to their kids, their husbands?
It just seems kind of invasive, you know? And that's where MY trepidation comes in. It is still only fiction, but it implies/states/declares that, IRL, there's something between these two. And just because I can see how that could be a possibility doesn't give me "the right" to write loads of fic about it. ;)
And yet, I have another plotbunny in my head. What ripptyd did that REALLY appealed to me, and that I shamelessly copied, was that she didn't use names. At all. It's moderately less "OMG THESE ACTORS ARE TOTALLY DOING IT" and more like "well, what if...?". IMHO.
The dozen more lines comment still holds true, though. Such awesome lines running through my head...
