Finished my stats assignment, including being BRILLIANT about having figured out the last question.
HA! :D
... now must run to class.

Date: 2005-02-02 03:36 am (UTC)There are 2 colleges in a metropolitan area each with the following student population:
A=12000
B=8000
Assuming that the student popilation of each school is equally distributed in terms of gender and levels (junior and senior), select a random sample of 1200 students from the total college population of the area, ensuring the proportionate representation of each college, level and gender. Choose an appropriate sampling procesure, elaborate the sampling design, and evaluate this procedure in terms of the rules of sampling.
Whew.
My issue here is that we'd never done three or four levels down like this.

Date: 2005-02-02 05:24 am (UTC)Basically, it means you need to randomly select 180 of each women juniors, women seniors, men juniors and men seniors from College A and randomly select 120 of each of those groups from College B before you have a sample that satisfies the rules of sampling, and would be representative of the population as a whole. :D
