TV Meme, Day Ten

Day 01 - A show that should never have been canceled -- "The Five Mrs. Buchanans"
Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching -- "The Big Bang Theory"
Day 03 - Your favourite new show (aired this season) -- "V"
Day 04 - Your favourite show ever -- "Star Trek: The Next Generation"
Day 05 - A show you hate -- "Everybody Loves Raymond"
Day 06 - Favourite episode of your favourite TV show -- "All Good Things..."
Day 07 - Least favourite episode of your favourite TV show -- "The Child"
Day 08 - A show everyone should watch -- "Seinfeld"
Day 09 - Best scene ever -- All the quiz scenes from the Friends episode, "The One With the Embryos"
Day 10 - A show you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving
Any number of shows could fit in here. Alias or Star Trek: The Next Generation, Murphy Brown or Saturday Night Live. But the one that is probably the most shocking is Weeds.
As anyone who knows me knows, one of my ex-girlfriends had a pretty bad marijuana habit. While initially in our relationship, her use of marijuana was occasional and fairly infrequent, towards the end of our relationship, she was getting high before work, at lunchtime (at work, in her truck in the parking lot), after work when she came home and again before bed. My personal stance on drugs (and drinking and cigarettes) has always been "no thank you" and I was okay with my girlfriend smoking on occasion, but it soon got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore. My stance on drugs has since hardened and I now have a much lower tolerance for anyone in my life getting high.
That's why it's so hilarious that I love the TV show Weeds. I mean, here is a show that is not only legitimizing and normalizing the use of marijuana as a recreational drug, but showing a woman selling it to maintain her lifestyle? And it even gets worse; Nancy gets into more and more trouble as time goes on. It's like a trainwreck.
It's ridiculous. I should hate this show with everything I am!
But I don't. I love it. I think Mary-Louise Parker is amazing, I love Andy and Silas and Shane. Even though I see Doug and think of Weekend Update with Kevin Nealon, I still think he's just hilarious.
