Today/tomorrow is going to be a bad day.
My dad's mom has a doctor's appointment at 10am. Dad is in a meeting all morning. Mom can't get out of work. My brother has class. Ergo, it falls to me.
My paper's not even CLOSE to being finished. I haven't showered. I obviously haven't slept. I'm seriously considering not going to Italian and only showing up to Social Theory to drop off my paper.
Assume I (miraculously) manage to finish my paper by 6am. That's three hours of sleep before I then get up and go take my grandmother to the doctor's. Home by noon (hopefully), and I have to watch AMC tomorrow, because Bianca's gonna kiss Maggie. <G> (WATCH IT. 1pm Eastern, 12pm Pacific, ABC. WATCH!) That leaves me from 2pm until 3:30 before I have to leave for Italian. Not enough time to sleep. I'd only get about forty minutes in, and it would be restless, because I'd know I'd have to wake up.
This means going to Italian and Social Theory on three hours of sleep. Maximum.
Fun, fun.
To keep me amused and/or entertained during my paper writing, I've made a new iTunes playlist, which I'm now listening to.
And now I will talk about Wicked and AMC and The West Wing. See, Wicked, in case you didn't know (and no,
jessruth, I know you know!!) is currently a fairly popular musical that describes the long-time friendship between The Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, in The Wizard of Oz. And apart from
jessruth's talking about it, my only exposure to it is the news that at the All My Children 35th Anniversary Concert on February 7th, Eden Riegel (Bianca) and Liz Hendrickson (Maggie) will sing For Good, a song from Wicked.
Naturally, I needed to hear this song. A friend gave me a WMA, but I can't burn a protected WMA, so I went and bought it from iTunes tonight. (Random tangent -- iTunes rocks so hard I can't even explain it. I'd had trouble downloading it while the store was having issues, and it was going to charge me AGAIN when I clicked the button again when the store was back up, which made me very grumpy. But then it told me to click the option of Check Purchased Music and it automatically started downloading the song without charging me again! <makes out thoroughyl with iTunes>)
And I'm like... I know this Kristen Chenoweth person who's one of the singers.
She's Annabeth on The West Wing! The short, short person working in the Communications department! The one who cracked me up by like, sneaking up on CJ unexpectedly in an episode a couple of weeks ago. Annabeth is cool! And Annabeth apparently spent a chunk of time on Broadway playing Glinda in Wicked! How wicked is that? (I couldn't resist. Don't shoot!) So that is just very cool to me.
For those that are interested, Eden will be singing Glinda's part, and Liz will be singing Elphaba's. Also, the song makes me cry when I think about them leaving AMC.
And, finally, before I get back to work on this paper, I did the 6 degrees meme thing again. (see previous entry):
I picked "charmed" because that was on TV.
charmed -> rogue_nightwing -> _swallow
It happens that
_swallow is a friend of
moireach and
poisoninjest and
yahtzee63. Which is, BTW, the shortest distance between me and
charmed. I rock! This could be very addictive.
Okay. Back to Durkheim and anomic suicide.
