My morning.

brinshannara: (aw crap)
I woke up to the blaring of both my alarms at about 11:30 today. I got out of bed, unwilling to face the day, but knew I had to, as I have my written driver's license test today, which, if I pass, will result in my getting a driver's learner's license.

Checked my voice mail.

1 message from Crazy Website Woman (I have not listened to it, yet. I saved it and will listen to it when I can deal.)
2 messages from my grandmother

On to email.

Several spams, some actual, real mail, and one email from Crazy Website Woman (I have not even looked at it, yet, and will check it later on).

I then decided I should probably figure out how to get to my driver's test place. On this piece of paper, in my handwriting, it has the phone number to call and it also says July 2nd, 2:30pm, Henri-Bourassa.

Cool. I called the number and used the automated thing to hear my appointment details.

In broken, mechanical English, the voice said:

"Your. Appointment. Is. July. Second. At. Two. Thirty. P. M. At the. Longueuil Service Center, located at..."

As it gave the address, I froze.

Fucking LONGUEUIL!?

Longueuil, for those of you who don't live in the Montreal area, is on the south shore of the St-Lawrence River. It's Far. Now, how the hell did I get booked at Longueuil, you may ask? I did ask the representative, a couple months ago, if he would check the Longueuil service center, just to see if there was any earlier availability for the test.

But WHY would I have written down Henri-Bourassa if it's at Longueuil?

Because I, apparently, am a dumbass.

In their system, I'm doing it at Longueuil, so it's a damn good thing I called to double-check where to go, because now, I'm leaving earlier than I would have, and I'm heading to THE OTHER END OF THE WORLD.

I called the Longueuil service center and asked how to get there from the metro station. Happily, they have buses. Not so happily, the bus costs THREE BUCKS A RIDE. Actually, $3.25.

Sob.

I should now eat something and then get dressed and head out.

Also, the vision test ('cause they test your eyes before issuing you even the learner's) is freaking me out a bit, because I cannot remember the last time I had my eyes tested, and I am SURE my vision has deteriorated at least a little bit. And I was 20/20 at my last appointment (maybe 10 years ago??), not like, 25/20 or anything, so there's very little room for deterioration before I need, you know, glasses.

I don't look GOOD in glasses. (And, also, I can't stand to watch anyone put in contacts. Contacts would not be a good solution for me.)

This whinefest is now over. Thank you for watching.

Damn, man, you see this episode for the first time in a year, and it STILL STICKS IN YOUR HEAD.

So, I got my learner's permit.

I successfully navigated my way to and from Longueuil (no small feat!).

My vision is fine! :)

I have rested, watched today's AMC (which I taped) and 4x11 of QAF (USA).

I am now bored, and want nothing more than to go to a specific park on the island with a specific person, just to see her face lit by the moon.

(I am lame.)
