Lost thoughts.
Unfortunately, every Thursday night, my World of WarCraft guild has a raid, and I usually have to attend, so I rarely get to see Lost live.
But I was going back through some of my old JJ Night posts (prompted by Alias being on at 2am on Space every weeknight!) and thought I'd try it out with this episode of Lost.
To me, Minkowski (Fisher Stevens) will always be the dude from Early Edition who asked for lotto numbers from Kyle Chandler's character.
I love Sun and Jin. I really do.

Hm. Flash forward? Flashback? She's packing so... flashback? Or not. She is visibly pregnant. Flash forward? NOT the most convincing pregnant stomach I've ever seen. It looks more like a volleyball under her shirt.
I hope Jin doesn't get killed off. Just 'cause of Daniel Dae Kim's arrest, and all that. They have a baaaaaaaaad track record.
Also... where the hell is Michael? Harold Perrineau has been in the credits all season. Where the hell has he been?

I like Daniel a lot. He's a little twitchy, but he's adorable. He's probably evil as hell because I like him.
They really have a nice Gilligan's Islandy setup with the kitchen area.

I do not feel good about her treatment by the doctors. I don't trust them. Perhaps this show has me overly paranoid for nothing. But you can never be too sure.

Oddly, the panda that's on hold was not there on his first trip to the cash.

There are three dates on that stone. 1980/3/20, 1974/11/27, 2004/9/22. Seems to me that the last date, isn't that the date of the crash? Then I guess his birthdate is Nov. 27, 1974. Who was born or died on March 20th, 1980? (Edit: I'm dumb. That's obviously a familial plot. March 20th, 1980 must be Sun's date of birth. I should have realized, given my own recent dealings with graves. :P)
Wouldn't Sun put the real date of death if he were really dead? What if he's just still on the island and presumed dead? I have no doubt she misses him. But why would she go to a fake grave with their daughter and Hurley if he wasn't actually buried there or actually dead?
Also... who's the 6th Oceanic 6 person?

there's debate on whether aaron counts, but i think every member of the oceanic six is supposed to be known by the end of this ep, so it must be aaron. or ben. *shrug*
i knew jin's was a flashback when the store owner recommended the dragon. year of the dragon was in 2000 and the next year of the dragon's 2012.

The year of the Dragon threw me for a loop. I knew we'd had one not terribly long ago (as in, it wasn't due anytime soon, particularly not in Lost-time) because I'm nowhere NEAR 35 yet, which is when the next Dragon year is. He didn't actually SAY it WAS the year of the dragon. He said "In the year of the dragon, it brings good luck". Since I'd already decided it was a flash-forward, I thought it a weak sales pitch for the toy dragon to be lucky the NEXT year of the dragon.
As to the crash date, yeah, I've seen the whole season thus far, and I guess it makes sense to make that his apparent date of death, but that's awful. Here's a tombstone to honour Jin's life and the date is just WRONG. Also, if you do the math, if Sun was 8 weeks pregnant around Christmas, that means conception was just before Halloween. How do you explain Jin being the father if he apparently died a month before that? I really doubt she would claim anyone else as the father. The baby was in distress, yes, but there was nothing about it being late (the world would think she was overdue by ~6 weeks) or, if she'd given birth prematurely, matching up the ~6 week difference, there was still no mention of that.
It's like, so many pieces ALMOST fit together. But they don't!

michael makes the most sense tho. i didn't even think of it. he was on the plane. and the little preview of next week's ep kinda had him in a scene where it looked like paparazzi or something.
regarding the d.o.c. and the baby, island-time seems different than off-island-time, and then moving off the island also can cause time strangeness. i'm sure that's partially how they're going to explain walt being 4 years older when he should only be a few months older.
